Mark is an Indirect Tax Partner and the Middle East Financial Services Tax Leader at Deloitte Middle East. He leads the UAE Indirect Tax practice, advising clients across multiple industries with a particular focus on Banks, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Crypto / FinTech, and large diversified family groups.
Previously, Mark led the Middle East Indirect Tax practice from 2018 to 2022, establishing and expanding the indirect tax offering across the GCC region. His role also included leadership of the Government and Public Sector VAT practice, supporting several governments in the GCC with the development and implementation of VAT regimes, policies, and related procedures.
With 25 years of experience across the UK, Europe, and the GCC, Mark works closely with clients to navigate domestic and international VAT complexities and maintains strong relationships with Tax Authorities across the region.
Mark is recognized for his strategic approach to VAT, working collaboratively with organizations to achieve commercially practical outcomes while maintaining VAT and tax compliance. He also has deep sector knowledge of the Financial Services industry across the Middle East.

Doukje is a Partner at Deloitte’s Tax Technology Consulting practice in the Middle East and has been with Deloitte for over 14 years. Prior to joining Deloitte Middle East, Doukje was working at Deloitte Amsterdam.
Doukje focuses on Tax Transformation and Tax Technology looking at the impacts of tax across People, Processes, Organization and Technology.
On the one hand, she advises companies with their day-to-day tax operations. This ranges from tax automation, e-invoicing, tax governance and tax process enhancements. On the other hand, she leads finance transformations and ERP implementations for Tax. In this respect, she has been a project lead of several ERP implementations, tax technology add-ons, e-invoicing solutions and Finance transformations.
Doukje holds a bachelor and master decree in Tax Law from the University of Groningen and she spent a semester abroad studying in the United States. She is a Dutch chartered tax lawyer.

Ambreen is Deloitte’s Indirect Tax Director focusing on the financial services and real estate sectors. Ambreen’s specific area of expertise is advising insurance and investment funds industry.
Prior to rejoining Deloitte in 2023, Ambreen has worked for four years as in-house tax lead at one of the largest insurers based in Abu Dhabi dealing with both life and non-life insurance business. Ambreen has been applying her in-depth knowledge of insurance business and its tax implications at Deloitte’s clients and supporting them by advising on complex insurance arrangements.
Ambreen is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and has wide experience of 17 years in different fields of taxation. She has been dealing with indirect taxes in UAE since 2017 and supported various businesses with VAT implementation in UAE being project manager at Deloitte.
